I think you guessed I would choose #2... ;-) so here it is:
I have commited all the changes to CVS.

These changes allow to include pictures in the schematics, but printing
or exporting to PNG is not supported (yet).
There is support for rotating, moving, copying, resizing, and mirroring
pictures.

Known bug: in gschem, when selecting and deselecting an image, it gets
thicker and thicker... I guess there's a o_picture_draw missing
somewhere, but I don't know where...

It's a huge change for libgeda and gschem, and a small change for any
other utility that uses libgeda (gattrib, gnetlist, gsymcheck, and
gschlas).

Regarding gattrib, I couldn't test it. Stuart, I don't know what is the
problem, but gattrib has always segfaults or seems to enter into a
infinite loop when loading a schematic, even before I made any changes
to it.
One example is trying to load flipflop_1.sch in the gschem/examples
directory after adding a description to one arbitrary symbol (gattrib
refuses to load if an attribute is not added).

I have tried gnetlist, gsymcheck, and gschlas, and I found no problem.
However, since this is a big change, testing is needed!. So please,
build the CVS version and report all bugs found!

Cheers,

Carlos
