A patch is in SF.net: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1202534&group_id=73743&atid=538813 Looks like Debian's patch file removes the redefinition entirely (Debian bug #294319), but the above patch should detect whether or not abs() is available.
