Guys/Gals --

Thanks to Ales for releasing the 20050820 edition of gEDA/gaf. A job
well done!

I am preparing to release the next gEDA Suite CD, incorporating the
latest and greatest of all the gEDA-allied tools. I will not
officially release the CD to the gEDA website until I have
incorporated ng-spice-rework 16, which is due out Any Day Now.
However, I have incorporated the latest and greatest of all other
gEDA-related programs, and have built the CD distribution.

I would like to ask those interested in alpha-testing the CD to
download it and test the install process. I have placed the .iso on
my website in the usual place:

http://www.brorson.com/gEDA/

(It's the first item in the second list. The test revision is
20050823.)

Please download the .iso and try installing it on your machine. I
have tested it on my FC1 and an FC2 machines (it works), but I am very
eager to get installation reports from other users on other machines.
In particular, I am a little leery about gcc-4.x, which is probably
distributed with the newest Linux distributions. Therefore, if you
are a gEDA developer with a new Linux distribution, I ask you to
download the CD distribution and try running its installer to verify
that it is working on your machine. Please let me know of your
failure or success, as well as what type of machine you used.

And even if you are running an older distribution, I am interested in
hearing from you. Please download and test the gEDA Suite installer
from the above-mentioned URL. All test reports are desired and
welcome!

Thanks for your valuable help and input!

Stuart
