Hi Patrick (and all),

I finally had a chance to play with your dialogs. Neat.
I like the cleaned up component selection dialog box. Feel free to
commit it as long as you keep the old one around for gtk+ 2.2.x users.

The file selection changes are a little tricker. Carlos has
already implemented related changes in CVS and I have some hacks to get
the preview working. However, I'm not really happy with my changes and
I like the way your dialog box is implemented (my preview implementation
is such a hack). Carlos, what do you think? I really want to make
sure we aren't stepping over ourselves here and that everybody ends up
in agreement.

Oh yeah, the old component selection dialog should work for users
who are using gtk+ 2.2.x. I'm sorry for injecting such pain into the
development and I'm willing to be a little flexible without annoyiung off
too many users.

I'm not sure what that would look like and more importantly,
will it make the whole user experience better? I'm not against or for
this until I understand the gains.

This reasonable as long as there is a way to get back to the
unfiltered list.

How would this work? Would a user have to pick the type everytime
they place the component?

                                                                -Ales
