I've tried it, but got turned off in utter disgust when I saw that the thing is packaged in encrypted (!) I'm not using that version, I'm using the native Linux version. You can download it from ftp.altera.com:/outgoing/release. It's a normal tar file containing .tar.gz's inside, no GUIs crammed down your throat. In fact I can't even use its GUI at all, only the command line utilities because my bootleg license file only has FEATURE quartus but not the other FEATURE (altera_mainwin_lnx or quartus_mainwin_lnx, something like that) that enables the GUI. But that's perfectly fine with me because command line tools are exactly what I want, my 80-column mind can't handle GUI.
