Would it be possible to access the (auto)-routing functionality of pcb by external plugins?
I think we agree that pcb autorouter is not perfect, so improvement is possible. And I am sure there are clever people out there, which have fun experimenting with there own routing algorithm. If it is necessary to understand many pcb internals and to recompile the whole pcb source to test an algorithmen, then this will prevent many people from testing there ideas. An alternative would be a separate autorouter playground -- maybe a simple matrix of ascii characters in its simplest form. But I think a pcb plugin or at least a well documented interface with a simple example of a stupid autorouter algorithmen would be much fun.
