Hopefully, you can see the whole part settle once the final ball
melts, too.  From what I've read, the problem isn't the melting, it's
the quality of the connection.  For production, x-ray inspection is
required.  For home use, I suspect either good fluxing or a little
solder paste is going to be key to getting a good reflow.
