What is the general opinion about keeping symbol pin numbers for transistors as "B", "C" and "E"? Isn't this better?
No, just different. It sure sounds logical to use B,C,E,S,G,D as pin numbers in netlists, but the usual product datasheets use a package drawing with numbers for position and names like B,C,E,S,G,D as pin names. Some datasheets from long ago use only letters and a drawing. I think having numbers for position and letters for names is simplifying for getting the info from the datasheets. How would you resolve confusion if a datasheet suggested pin numbers? They often do. I use a part that has a NPN and a PNP in one package. Six leads, six position numbers, 2 C's, 2 B's, 2 E's. How would you deal with that? John Griessen _______________________________________________ geda-user mailing list [email protected] http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-user
