If you add the line: (log-window "later") to wherever you have your local gschemrc file, that should do the trick. Alternatively, you could set the system-wide default in "system-gschemrc", which you will find under $PREFIX/share/gEDA/. $PREFIX is where gEDA is installed, and might be "/usr" for a distribution installed package, or your home directory. A list of settable options, with examples is contained with system-gschemrc.
