I'm creating a newlib footprint for a surface-mount flex-pc connector. The recommended pad pattern includes pads for each pin and two large solder pads for structural attachment. How does one designate these solder pads as not being connected to any network? Is this done in the .fp file? I read Stuart Brorson's excellent document "Footprint creation for the open-source layout program 'PCB'", but this particular situation is not covered.
