No, someone else did it, and I suggested that this was the Wrong Thing.

At your level of Linux expertise, I think that's recommended. I'll try and
put together a guide to installing gEDA from sources for newcomers to Linux.
It's definitely not as easy as it should be!
Can anyone who knows Debian/Ubuntu stuff suggest how he can install 1.2.1
packages on Gutsy?
