Hi, You didn't described your project too much...
However, if you never worked with SMT and you want only a few parts, it would be far more easy to solder by soldering iron. If you want something pretty, you need a so called 'stencil', which is a stainless steel mask for the soldering paste. Additionally, SMTs are usually baked in a reflow oven with a suitable temperature profile. I think, you only need this if you want to produce high volume or BGA.
