Primarily used for pads used as fiducials. So, if that worked as advertised, one could just create an Element-file containing the text: Element["" "fiducial" "" "" 0 0 0 0 0 100 "hidename"] ( Pad[0 0 0 0 5000 5000 10000 "fiducial" "0" "round,nopaste"] ) and add it to the layout via Menu 'File' -> 'Add element data to paste buffer'.
