1024x800? Where? They're all widescreen now. The lightweight, inexpensive ones are 1024*600 or so. The larger, heavier, cheap and modern notebooks get up all the way to 1280x800. The lack of height would hurt me, at least. I now use a 1024x768 Thinkpad X40 (which I have promoted here before: US$400 on eBay).
