I don't see why the slotdef attribute can't have a grammar such as slotdef=2:1~v,2~v,13~v,7~h,14~h which says show pins 1, 2 and 3 but hide the fourth and fifth pin following pins.
I don't see how this type of change would reduce flexibility. Ales, Where on http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:faq is the word goal even used? The word is "approach" is only used to argue against monolithic programs. So I dispute that the goals/approaches are clearly documented on this page. I fully agree with tool_xxx_is_missing_critical_feature_yyy_what_can_i_do I also think telling users to go away is counter productive. One management technique that I have learned (I think in the army) is that some talks with people should be done one on one and not as a dressing down in public!
