In addition I suggest to ask one kid or maybe a few who already participated to tell their story in a short write-up. Takes the barriers down a notch. It could start out like "When I took my assignment, at first I almost wetted my pants. But then ...", followed by the success story. This is one method churches use to encourage people for mission work. Most destinations are a bit hostile so there is some fear factor to overcome.
