Ack. I looked into brlcad, and found it next to unusable when compared with a modern 3D CAD application. Although I strongly prefer FOSS, I bit the bullet and went for a commercial solution. The project certainly made it into GSoC along with blender, because it promises to produce elements of a virtual reality. By the way, when are the results of the 2008 projects expected to hit main stream testing? The autorouter looked quite promising.
