Thanks for the link, DJ! When I follow this new tutorial, the LINE tool works as described: click, click, ESC leaves me with a trace. But with the board I created following http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:gsch2pcb_tutorial, the trace disappears when I press ESC.
