I recently compiled and installed gschem under Cygwin on my WinXP computer.
I followed the instructions at http://www.geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:cygwin This is the first time I've used gschem and so far I like it. However, it has been crashing quite frequently. To run gschem I click on the Cygwin terminal icon on the Windows desktop. In the Cygwin terminal I enter "startx". Once the X server starts I enter "gschem" in one of the xterm windows that comes up. (Is there a better way?) After the crash, the xterm window typically shows: Assertion "pthreadnet == 0" failed: file "/usr/src/ports/xorg/libxcb/libxcb-1.1-3/src/libxcb-1.1/src/xcb_in.c", line 73 Aborted (core dumped) The directory C:\cygwin\usr\src is empty on my machine - so I am guessing that the message was generated during the compilation of one of the precompiled Cygwin libraries that I have downloaded onto my machine. Versions: gschem - 1.4.3.20081231 Cygwin - 2.573.2.3 WinXP - version 2002 Service Pack 3 I would appreciate any advice. Jack Dodds Geo Equipment Manufacturing Ltd.
