Well, for two-pin objects and 45 degrees you can just stretch the pins until you hit the grid. I have written a Python script to do free rotation of gschem symbols, then snap pins to the nearest gridpoint. It is available here: http://vivara.net/software/gschem_rotate/ Lightly tested, the bugs come free.
