I'm going to design a PCB using a 4/4 mils (or better) fabrication rule. Does anyone know if PCB manufacturers use an arbitrary routing pitch/accuracy? I imagine there might be some software or data format limitations involved. What kind of pitch value should I expect? 4mils, 1mil, 1um? My target is to position traces with an absolute accuracy of 10um or better so anything below that (especially if the pitch is a factor of 100um) would do fine.
