Eh? I understand it perfectly well. The thing is, though, that sometimes it is simply not practical to use FLOSS when you need a feature right away that simply isn't there. Sometimes people just lack the skill and/or time to contribute. Free and open source software is beautiful, but that doesn't mean it always has everything to offer that is needed for every single user, at any given moment. In this particular case, I was simply replying to someone who appeared to want some features not yet in gEDA. As such, I just don't understand why you blatantly assume I don't understand the concept of FLOSS, or why you assumed I was bashing anything - because I didn't. All I ever said was in this particular case, another workflow - unfortunately one that isn't open-source - might be better for this user. That said, gEDA is a beautiful piece of software. It has a lot of features, and is very powerful - but not quite as powerful as some other programs, that unfortunately aren't open-source. Trust me, if I had the time and skill to implement those features in gEDA, I would - but I don't. _______________________________________________ geda-user mailing list [email protected] http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-user
