I'd suggest that anyone who also wishes the same should tick the "bug affects me" option, so we get an idea of the demand. That feature was designed to avoid lots of "ME TOO", "+1" comments on bugs. Perhaps leave the status update for developers who are sufficiently familiar with the design issues to decide if the wishlist item is a "Confirmed", "WontFix" or "Opinion".
