Actually, to be fair to John Doty, I was thinking the geometric placement of nets on the schematic was unimportant. (Not that I have been writing any code which would make that assumption affect anything.) Consider my opinion on the matter changed though, as I've heard some vaguely convincing use-cases. I did think that stating that the issue doesn't matter to me was somewhat unfair though.
