It does not, and for the record I do not believe checkpointing is a 2001 feature. It is probably specific so some other compiler that you have used. At least, I can't find it anywhere in the standard. Correct me if I missed it. I'm not sure how one would implement checkpoints in vvp, or even what it saves.
