But not all engineers and scientists write badly - my wife is a top-flight scientist, and writes extremely well, and I'm an engineer who writes English well enough to make pin-money out of editing scientific papers written in English by Dutch native-speakers to make the papers read more or less as if they were written by an English native-speaker (I was born and raised in Tasmania). I don't know any Portuguese or Spanish, but I'd be happy to go over Xtian Xultz's translation into English and recast the sentences so that they ended up looking like regular English - I'm un-employed at moment, and I could tackle the job more or less full-time. I've got Microsoft Word 97 on the Windows partition of my computer, and that is the word processor that I've mostly used in recent years, but the Linux partition is running Mandrake 9.0, and there are a bunch of word processors available there. ----------- Bill Sloman, Nijmegen
