Your site's FAQ lists the microcontroller as 8-bit. Unless I'm missing something, the 80188 is a 16-bit microprocessor. Granted, it only has an 8-bit data bus, but that doesn't change the fact that operations *inside the chip* are all performed 16-bits at a time.
