I have 3 concern with your site.
- First, every user can post symbols on the gEDA site, and except the
license, i don't see any difference between yours and the gEDA.
- Second, i don't see any ngspice or gnucap model category. (This issue is
also true for the gEDA site.)
- Third, i believe at the GNU license is a good one, and at users like me
will post their models on the gEDA site. So why not give the possibility to
choose which license a contributor will use for a symbol?
For the plus, if your site can give a better dynamic to the symbol creation,
i think at you are doing a great job. To archieve that, i think at the user
must have the choice to determine which license he or she want to use.
And maybe more important, as gEDA is becoming a mature project, i think at a
better integration between the symbols lybraries (gschem, pcb, ngspice,
gnucap) must be archieved. A good way to do that is to put some comments in
the gschem symbol to tell the users which subcircuit, footprint or model can
be used with this particular symbol.
Another way would be to define a rigid symbol hierarchy, but, as gEDA is in
use on many different platforms, i don't believe in that approch.
A last thing. Is it possibel to have a forum on you wiki? I think at a forum
on symbol and symbol creation can definitly help the users and boost the
symbol creation for the gEDA.

Please checkout:

and coordinate any efforts. I would hate to see replicated and
competing efforts in this area.
