I am suggesting some mechanism to quickly access current directory to be implemented into gschem "Save As" dialogue.
Example: I have opened the symbol /usr/share/gEDA/sym/analog/npn-3.sym and want to save it under /home/clock/creat/vault/ronja/schematics/symbols/npn-BEC-1.sym I have to 5x doubleclick to get into / and then (scroll)-doubleclick: home clock creat vault ronja schematics symbols It's very time consuming. Because the current directory is used very often I think it is a good idea to add a special function for it. It could be: 1) The directories window would contain not only ../, but also ./ 2) there would be a button labeled "current directory" which when pressed would switch into current directory 3) After clicking on "Directories", one would be presented with preset selection of: a) current directory b) home directory c) root directory d) gEDA system-wide symbol directory e) possibly also history 4) The same as (3), but not for "Directories", but for "Filename". I also suggest the preview to be turned default on and not off. CL<
