I added an option which reorganizes the layout widgets and it will give you
some more vertical space.  Here's a patch, apply in the pcb-20060414/src/hid
directory with:  patch -p0 < /path-to-patch/pcb-patch2

You'll get some rejects, but they are for some CVS comment lines and
it should still compile.  But if not I guess you'll have to wait for anonymous
CVS to come back or another snapshot release.

With it, I can get the minimum vertical size to decrease from 686 to 523 pixels
and what you can get will depend on the theme & desktop fonts you are using.
Hope it'll be enough.
