I have found the answer to my problem. It appears to be a bug, but it's
not even noticable once you have stories in all of your topics. i.e.:
Right blocks don't show up on "topic" pages if there are not stories
present for that topic.
Search in the "bugs" topic on the geeklog web site for "Broken Right
Blocks in Topics." and you should find the story.

I am not experiencing this problem. But I have found a few missing
.thtml files in the "console" theme. To fix these, I've just been
copying them from the XSilver theme. Seems to work fine.
But I'm still getting that missing right block problem. I was mistaken
when I said earlier that there was not reference to the {right_blocks}
variable in my thtml files. It does occur once in the footer.thtml
file, I believe.
It does not matter which theme I use; if I want to display a block on
the right side of just a category (not all pages) other than the home
page, it does not show up. I'm not noticing any PHP, Apache, or Geeklog
errors.
Any ideas?

Hi, as far as i know every .thtml files only have the templates data,
that's
what the t means beside html. So you won't find your block there.
I just installed Geeklog two days ago and it's working quite fine here. I
only have a broquen link when an anonymous is trying to contribute, it
show
a page that says "you are anonymous bla bla bla ... "click here to
login"
... " . When you click on that link it refresh the same page instead of
going to the loging page. As you are new, Are you experimenting this
problem?
Thanks.

Subject: [geeklog-users] some right blocks not showing
Hello,
I'm trying out Geeklog. So far, I'm quite impressed. But I am having a
problem... thought I'd throw it out there and see if you've got any
ideas.
Basically, whenever I create a block of my own and tell it to appear on
the right, it fails to show up in most cases. The only time it does
show up is if I tell it to appear on the home page or on all pages.
Placing it on the right side of a specific topic does not work.
I saw a post on the site about a missing {right_blocks} variable in a
theme. I did a grep for right_blocks in my .thtml files and did not
find it anywhere. But this problem does appear in all themes that I've
tried (XSilver and Console).
Any hints are appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason
