[geeklog-users] Polls and PNGs

Howdy, all.  This is my first post to the mailing list, with a few 
questions I came across while setting-up Geeklog for my family and band 
websites.  I'm not sure if GL is the best choice, as both are more 
"article" than "news" oriented, but it should at least provide a good basis.

Anyway, my questions:
(1) Is there any way to close a poll, such that the results are still 
listed, but no more votes are accepted?

(2) What's with the GIFs?  My theme uses only PNGs, but there are still 
several hard-coded GIF URLs in the code.  Shouldn't PNG be standard?
