I'd be surprised if allowing the override of register_globals can be
honored in .htaccess as this typically results in security relate
behavior that server admins want to control tightly. Is it possible
that the .htaccess value is reported but not honored (i.e. is this a
bug/feature of PHP?). This will need to be looked into. Can you create
a bug for this (even though I'm not convinced it is yet) and attached
your php.ini and .htaccess to it? You can do so at
http://project.geeklog.net.

It's turned on in .htaccess - I got the warning
about register globals when I first ran the install
script. I made the entry in .htaccess and then the
install script no longer complained...
Is there a problem with doing it this way?
