Hi all,
After last meeting with my tutor's project; we *almost* decided stopping
clutter integration.
*Althrought* I think clutter integration it's a good idea ; it's is quite
difficult for me to fit this work in the few months I have to do the project
( must be finished in June). The main reasons are: the complexity of Geeqie
, the mentioned lack of time , and the extra complexity added by clutter
integration ( some structures as GdkPixBuff must be kept).
So I'll limit my contribution to purpose some pan view improvements on
http://geeqie.wiki.sourceforge.net/page/panview ; and implement them using
the actual way of programming pan-view. Also all documentation generated
about the way geeqie works will be part of the project, and it will be
uploaded ( yeah; it's a hidden way for you to correct my work :) ).
I'm not saying I'm not using Clutter finally *at all*.
It's possible that once completely understood geeqie and made some of the
purposed improvements; I'll finally use clutter in some way.
For example: it would be quite easy to me to use clutter to implement
rotation and zoom ( I know zoom it's already implemented); by passing the
desired GdkPixbuff , to a function that only uses clutter functions.
I hope that the work I'll do, althrought it's not alligned with your plans,
would be useful in some way; althrought I know that soon or later everything
will be substitued with clutter; or other highh-level libraries.
Finally; you have to decide if making a branch for this work ; or want to
integrate in the main branch of the project... or even don't want this kind
of work :( .
