Immediately after 1.0 I want to implement something similar to this feature: http://agateau.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/faster-jpeg-loading-in-gwenview-21/ This should partially fix this issue too, at least for fit-to-window mode. A complete fix will need writting a custom jpeg loader instead of the gdk one and an infrastructure change to support one image split in multiple pixbufs. This will take more time.
