I've been using it for a bit with 1.0beta1, but had locking-up problems. It messes up greyscale images and the look-ahead caching of geeqie means that when viewing a jpg with the same name, geqie became unresponsive until it had finished preloaded the xcf. It also seems to generate them fresh each time, rather than building a thumbnail and caching it. These points may have changed in geeqie-svn. This is not to complain.
