I often have to rotate images, and i would like to modify the image data directly. I would prefer if occasional 'metadata' rotations could be made temporary again (that is, disable metadata writing in the preferences) because i often throw out image collections on a DVD or for download, and i can not know what viewing software customers will use and if they value XMP or EXIF rotation tags.
Because of this, i would prefer a published file to be just rotated in itself. I need to know if a file is either virtually or real rotated ! While i can see the benefit in metadata presets, obviously, they confuse this approach. Rotation pre-sets are practicable only for private use, not for publishing.
