Hello After some time I got back to keywording my photos, and it hit me how slow saving of metadata is (CPU 100% for 30 seconds for a single file? that can't be right). I don't remember it being so slow back in the day; after all, all you need to do is serialize a data structure to XML, insert it into an APP1 marker and then copy the rest of the file over and rename to the old file; none of these seems like a costly operation to me (and the APP1 marker can be appended to the file, btw; the spec allows it, but it may confuse some readers that expect all the headers to be at the beginning of the file).
