But you can also add the following tags to your side panel and edit it (Just a selection, there are many more): - Exif.Image.ImageDescription. - Xmp.dc.description - Xmp.exif.UserComment - ... You might consult the man page of Image::ExifTool::TagNames. Unfortunately ExifTool is not a library that can be used out of the box.
