I guess using the xrandr api (no clue here, just guessing). So, right now you manually use the _ICC_PROFILE and that's it? I'm trying to assess the situation in different projects supporting color management. On Mac it's rather dumb: the program fetches the profile of the monitor where the center of the window is located. If the window is 1/3 in one monitor, the output will be broken for one of the two monitors.
