Apakah Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM) sudah bubar?. Tentu saja tidak, dan tidak
akan pernah bubar. Sekalipun Aceh sudah dipimpin oleh orang-orang Aceh sendiri
sebagai hasil Persetujuan Helsinki dan sudah melaksanakan syariat Islam sesuai
dengan cita-cita dan tuntutan mereka, tapi mereka tetap belum puas karena masih
berada dalam lingkungan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Keinginan
mereka mau melepaskan diri dari Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia tidak akan
pernah sirna.
Sekalipun Hasan Tiro sudah tiada, tapi penerusnya masih banyak.. Cita-cita
Hasan Tiro tetap akan mereka teruskan. Cita-cita Hasan Tiro yang ingin merdeka,
ingin berdiri sendiri terlepas dari Indonesia tidak akan pernah padam.
Asnawi Ali yang tinggal di Örebro (Swedia) adalah salah satu contoh saja dari
penerus Hasan Tiro itu. Aktevitet mereka di luar negeri selama ini sepenuhnya
membuktikan bahwa cita-cita GAM tetap dilanjutkan oleh genersi selanjutnya.

Dear all,
Acheh-Sumatra Liberation Front (ASNLF) cordially invites you all to join the
commemoration of the 145th anniversary of the Dutch declaration of war against
the sovereign, independent state of Acheh on March 26, 1873.
Around one hundred Achehnese diaspora, particularly those living in Europe,
will be participating on this fateful “Black Day”, where Achehnese nation lost
its country in one of the longest wars in history. As the Dutch historian, Paul
Van’t Veer, put it in his book “The Acheh War”:
“Holland had never fought a war greater than the one with Acheh. In terms of
time, this war can be said to be the eighty years war. In terms of casualties -
more than one hundred thousands dead - it was a military event that has no
equal in the history of our land. The war against Acheh was for Holland very
much more than a mere armed conflict: it was, for a century, the burning point
of our national, colonial, and international politics.“ De Atjeh-oorlog,

The parade will be held in three different sites, namely in front of the
buildings of the International Criminal Court (ICC) headquarters (Oude
Waalsdorperweg 10, 2597 AK, The Hague), the House of Parliament (Tweede Kamer,
Lange Poten 4, 2511 CL, The Hague) and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia
(Tobias Asserlaan 8, 2517 KC, The Hague).
