Saya mengikuti diskusi online dan mengira negara Singapura hebat terutama dgn
kemakmuran dan infrastrukturnya. Namun setelah melihat data tsb dibawah, negara
Singapura masih kalah nominal GDP nya dgn kota Shanghai dan Beijing (dgn
catatan penduduk Shanghai dan Beijing lebih banyak drpd Singapura).

Here is the GDP size of the tier 1 cities in China and that of Singapore:
Shanghai Nominal GDP (2017): $446 billion with 9% growth rate
Beijing Nominal GDP (2017): $414.8 billion with 6.7% growth rate
Shenzhen Nominal GDP (2017): $332 billion with 8.8% growth rate
Guangzhou Nominal GDP (2017): $341 billion with 7% growth rate
Singapore Nominal GDP (2017): $349.7 billion with 3.6% growth rate
Infact if Singapore was situated in China itself it would rank as a tier 1
city, do you think any tier 1 city can “buy” China? This question is pretty
absurd and just for reference point have a look at the GDP of these two tier 2
cities in China:
Hangzhou Nominal GDP (2017): $200 billion with 9.5% growth rate
Suzhou Nominal GDP (2016): $233.07 billion with 7.5% growth rate
Those two will likely surpass Singapore in GDP soon enough and so Singapore
isn’t buying China anytime soon but China can buy Singapore several times over.
