Summary: GEM from pd-extended interfers with jack in realtime mode

Initial Comment:
I can reproduce following bug on 2 different versions of ubuntu:

Fresh install of ubuntu, allow realtime for users, set up /etc/security/limits
to audio group for real time, then reboot and start pd-extended as user:
'/usr/bin/pd -jack -rt -channels 2' from command line. this works only _one_
time. after closing pd and starting pd again pd zombifies or only says
repeatedly "watchdog: signaling pd..."

i could track this down to GEM by removing everything else from .pdsettings The
bug occurs only when both jack and pd are run with realtime priority and when
specifying "channels". using 'pd -rt -jack' (without channels setting) works -
Setting up jack in the pd menu is no problem then.

Ubuntu Intrepid 2.6.27-3-rt :
Pd version 0.41-4extended-20090323
compiled 11:51:58 Mar 23 2009
jack started with: jackd -R -d firewire

Ubuntu Jaunty, rt kernel:
Pd version 0.41-4extended-20090331
jack started with jackd -R -d alsa
