I can reproduce that here both on osx 10.7.5 and 10.8.3 with Gem 0.93.3 (14 jan
2013) from Pd-extended 0.43.4. When you send [menubar 0/-1( the menubar is
still visible but cannot be clicked anymore.

the hiding option of the menubar is broken by Apple since approx. 10.7
both menubar 0 and menubar -1 have no effect.
