This sort of question should go to the m5-users mailing list. The  
information on  
http://m5sim.org/wiki/index.php/Simulation_Scripts_Explained might  
help you. You should never need to modify files in build since those  
are all either simlinked to files in other places or are generated by  
the build process. build/ALPHA_SE/params/DerivO3CPU.hh is a generated  
file.
