Hi, I thought other folk might be interested to know that we've included support for running on gem5 in the most recent release of the Barrelfish research OS.
This is in our most recent release from ETH Zurich at http://www.barrelfish.org/. If you build an x86_64 version of the OS, then a new build target "make m5" will create an OS kernel image and then boot it on FS gem5. There's not much documentation about this, but anyone's welcome to ping me directly with any queries. I've only looked at x86_64 so far, although the Barrelfish OS also supports ARM cores. --Tim
