if you check the reviewboard, i've posted a patch that will reset ruby stats as well. It's not an optimal solution but its in its truest form a "patch". The long term is to finish make m5 stats and ruby stats the same thing, although no one has had the time to put the final touches on that merge quite yet. I'm hoping there is documentation on the gem5.org website on how to do this, but if you look in the util/m5/ directory you'll see some basic setup for compiling in m5 instructions.
