I also met the same problem. If I want to do large scale experiments in FS mode with ruby enabled, I have to write all my commands in the rcS file, and boot system each time which cost lots of time. If I use checkpoints, I have to log into the system and input my commands. Thus, it becomes very convenient if rcS files can be executed from system restore points.
