I used the available packages in ubuntu repository (11.10) without any
source modificationss and there was no problem.

Python 2.7.2+
SWIG Version 1.3.40
gcc version 4.6.1 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.1-9ubuntu3)
gcc version 4.6.1 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.1-9ubuntu3)
