Just a small note to avoid any confusion:

I don't know if it is something you have added on your side, so excuse me
if I'm wrong, but the CPU models that are part of the public gem5 are not
cycle accurate. They might be doing cycle-level simulation, but that does
not (by construction) make them cycle accurate with respect to any actual
CPU implementation. Any reports on correlation results are very much
welcome though.
